AIR WITHOUT LANGUAGE, BANNER PROJECT (2009-2010), includes a series of photographs in which hand painted banners are tossed into the sky, and photographed as they flip and float across the landscape. Air Without Language aims to visually join “the real” with the ethereal; “the real” being the natural and determined landscape, the ethereal being the flipping and floating banners. The phrases painted on the banners originate from a desire to communicate within an environment free of language bound to singular definitions.
